email from Richard Hughes to Peter Astbury on 6 October 09 : For the attention of Peter ASTBURY Peter I thought you/the residents of HEATLEY MERE might want to know that PCSO Brendan GLOVER has left CHESHIRE POLICE as of now, his replacement is PCSO Mike LUCKETT. Just to let you know in case you were unaware that I am the LYMM Beat Officer, (I moved into this role about 6 months ago, and have worked on largely Proactive Units before this in Cheshire and Merseyside Police. If yourself or any of your fellow residents have any enquiries please feel free to email me on this email address.) ================================================================================================================== A quick update for all of you which is current/relevant; Myself and colleagues have been dealing with several burglaries on the RUSHGREEN ROAD area recently, these appear to be focussed on properties, again, with high value/performance cars on the driveways. (Investigations are ongoing regarding these but in one instance an escort type van has been seen in the area behaving suspiciously.) Unfortunately due to the sensitivity of some of the information the Police deal with there will be other information we are aware of in relation to these investigations which would be inappropriate to post on your site or discuss by email, sorry. Also I am aware that some residents may feel a lack of perceived Police presence in the area, I would just like to reassure anyone worrying about this. I try when appropriate to spend a proportion of my time in a marked Police car, however, I also use an unmarked Police car regularly as well. (This does not mean there is no perceived Police presence in Lymm at time, there will be one of my PCSO colleagues either on foot or in a marked Police car, and other units travelling through the Lymm area too) The reasoning behind this is that the unmarked car gives me the opportunity to patrol the area anonymously, I can gather intelligence which can then be acted on by myself at the time or later when more appropriate when I am in a marked Police car. The unmarked car is invaluable to catching a lot of the crooks unaware, the opportunity being lost when they see a marked car. (At this moment in time I have issued a quite a number of traffic related tickets for various offences, anti social use of motor vehicles, as well as criminal offences such as possession of drugs offences, and intelligence gathering, largely whilst being in the unmarked car) The marked Police car is invaluable but can just displace criminals in some cases, used effectively the unmarked car allows a lot more opportunities in the right hands, one down side of this is that obviously you may not see me out and about. I have a lot of contacts from various Police Units in the Police organisation and regularly keep these informed of the goings on in LYMM which enables them to Patrol that area when able. I have also put a lot of effort into developing a good working relationship with my PARTINGTON/Greater Manchester Police colleagues, which has resulted in the positive identification of several offenders involved in Burglaries and a robbery in LYMM during the summer. I appreciate the above is quite long winded so apologies for this in view of it also being the first email from myself but it was a case of having the time to get this done, and using this oppurtunity, any further enquiries please feel free to contact me, regards

e mail from Ste Chadwick to to Peter Astbury
hi peter,
Its steve from number 34 and i'm sorry to say that yet again we have had another attempted break in but this time it was at number 32 at 3:10am on the 29/5/09. Dawn had heard them smashing the frame of the door around the back of the house but obviously run off when they were seen. The couple who are living there are renting the property and are currently away in america. The police have been round and the CSI forensics have been round and have lifted finger prints off the door, but i'm sure we wont hear anything else of it. Plus the police officer said that there was another break in on the lakeside road last night at around the same time which they have always been tooled up to go into those houses apparently and aren't afraid to use them either, lets hope it isn't the same group of idiots coming down here!Steve

e mail from Brendan Glover of Cheshire Police to Peter Astbury
Peter, Just to let you know there was an attempt burg at 34 Chaise Meadow on the evening of 16/04/09. The offenders had gone round the back of the property, possibly to gain entry to obtain vehicle keys, however they were disturbed and made off in a black Audi a3. Can you please let your neighbours know and ask them to be vigilant, contact Cheshire Police on > 0845 458 0000 or 999 if there are threats to life / property. Regards, Brendan

Stephen & Dawn at 34 Chaise have a high performance car. The Police think they were after the keys.

e mail from Ste Chadwick 34 Chaise to Peter Astbury:
Hi Peter, I think that the email from Brendan fills all the gaps that i'd say but i'd also add that if these people are challenged like we did they will come back at you because they chased Dawn back up the street when they realised she was on the phone to the police and that was with me there. I think it should also be mentioned that i have spoke to Brendan myself and he and his colleagues are going to be keeping a close eye and doing patrols around Heatley Mere due to what has happened. These three lads were dressed in normal clothes not dark colours like you would expect and had been outside of the house for up to half an hour after our neighbour had seen them, so they are certainly not frightened to show thier face around. The question that i didnt get an answer to is that the police on the night thought that it was a high possibility they had visited the co-op shop at some point due to the length of time they spent in the area, so if it is possible to find out any info about the cctv would be great. If you do need to add anything on top of that its totally fine by us. thanks ste & dawn 34 Chaise Meadow
